Why did I do this CD? A reasonable question to ask! I got into music and started playing bass guitar at the age of 15. Music became my passion and my life. My dream was to be a professional musician. I followed my father's footsteps into the world of commerce when I was 19. My plan was to become a professional musician when the time was right. When I turned 30 I realised that the time would never be right, so I gave up my job to follow my dream.
No work came in for the first 6 months, and then I started to get pro contracts. Music has taken me to France, Spain, Germany, Holland, Belgium, around the Mediterranean, Libya, Greece, Abu-Dhabi, Dubai as well as touring in the UK.
Around 1998 I was starting to be ‘nudged’ by the universe! At that time I had been a professional musician for three years. I was living my dream, yet happiness remained elusive. Performing on stage could be an amazing experience (if I was in the right mood) or quite a terrible one (if I was in the wrong mood). I did not have control over these feelings, which in itself fuelled further insecurity, leading me to be more often than not in a negative state prior to and during performance. Since that time I have looked at various techniques to improve my state of being - Yoga, Buddhism and meditation.
I found that when I started to meditate I did so because I was ‘wound up’. Inevitably feeling that way made relaxation very difficult. My mind continually wandered and lost focus. The concept of the Ultimate Meditation CD is that the music leads you down a path of relaxation gradually allowing you to settle, relax and focus.
Where has meditation taken me? I'm happier, more relaxed, more in control of my day. My relationships are healthier. I am able to ‘let go’ of a lot of negativity and have more friends. I genuinely feel I am in the right place living my life correctly. I wish you all of these things...
